When NANA gutted their new building on I Street & 9th Avenue in downtown Anchorage, they had the opportunity to redesign the interior from scratch. The architects created a beautiful, sun filled space with glass offices along the exterior walls of floors 2-6. The light was amazing, but privacy needed to be considered. I worked with NANA to develop and apply custom patterns on privacy film throughout. We created six unique patterns inspired by traditional Iñupiaq parkas of the NANA region, and used them to differentiate and add interest to each of the building's six floors. The designs also included signage. Each floor has conference rooms named after NANA villages and labeled in both English and Iñupiaq.
